…to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ… 1 Peter 3:20-21.
Just a thought.
The tumultuous rising waters of a flood come to destroy your life are the very same waters we waded into at baptism.
holy shit.

p.s. I was working on something really good to post, but I have a meeting to go to. damn responsibility.
I’m on the cusp of finishing my 5th semester here at George Dub, and honestly it feels like I just started seminary. If all goes as planned, I should be out of here by next summer and well on my way to conquering the world.
More than any other (and I’m sure that I have said this about every semester prior) this semester has been the most tough and busiest stretch of months that I have experienced yet. As every week comes to a conclusion I am bewildered by the fact that I got all my work done. But I guess that’s what seminary is all about: pushing you to the brink o you can see what you’re really made of.
I’ve gotten to take one of the greatest trips of my life and in two days I set out for Prague to spend a week working with military kids and tour the city for a weekend. I’m sure I’ll post all the pictures at some point.
I’ve been working on a sermon on the story of Jesus healing the man with the shriveled hand. One thing that has stuck out to me about this lived out parable is that Jesus’ anger results in restoration. This is entirely unlike my anger. I usually get hacked off over the dumbest things and my anger only results in broken relationships and migraines. But somehow Jesus’ anger results in the healing of a man’s life.
I think the problem is that we don’t ever get angry about the things that really matter.

i set up a flickr account for all the pictures from the trip. Go check them out.
It looks like the BBQ trip is still taking its toll on me. I’ve been sick for the past couple of days.
